About the Practitioner
Kathleen has been a registered nurse (RN) for over 30 years. She received her nursing education from The Chester County School of Nursing followed by a BA in business at Eastern University. In the beginning of her nursing career she developed her clinical knowledge and skills working in diverse medical settings which included medical/surgical units, neurological and cardiac intensive care units, emergency room, case management, home health care and rehabilitation.
Continuing to expand her knowledge and skills while looking for a new nursing challenge she transitioned into pharmaceutical industry as a pharmacovigilance associate assisting to provide safe drugs to patients.Throughout her pharmaceutical career she continued to miss the one to one personal relationship that develops when assisting a patient through their healing journey. This feeling as well as her own personal experience once again led her to expand her nursing education with the study of Healing Touch. Thereafter, becoming a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner (CHTP).
Kathleen has a private practice seeing clients in her office and various locations including but not limited to assisted livings facilities, private homes, hospitals and outpatient facilities. Additionally, she provides Healing Touch to cancer patients and their caregivers at the Bryn Mawr Cancer Center. On May 15, 2016, Kathleen joined the Unite for HER (UFH) organization as an approved complementary Healing Touch wellness provider. Supporting their mission to empower and restore women with breast cancer. She also participates in various health outreach programs. Her membership to professional associations are Healing Beyond Borders, American Holistic Nursing Association (AHNA) and the Healing Touch Professional Association (HTPA).
Kathleen is continuously searching for new scientifically supported complimentary therapies/techniques to enhance the lives of her clients. In 2017, Kathleen obtained certifications in Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and in Clinical Acupressure 1.
TFT utilizes the same system as acupuncture. However, instead of using needles the client is taught sequential tapping sequences to release negative energy (e.g. stress, worry, fear etc.).
Clinical Acupressure is derived from traditional acupressure as well and uses firm finger pressure using specific point combinations on the body to release and rebalance energy.
